20th Annual Teddy & Toque Toss: Saturday, December 5th the Lethbridge Hurricanes will be holding the 20th annual Canadian Tire Teddy & Toque Toss when they face the Red Deer Rebels. Purchase a teddy or toque for $9.99 at both Canadian Tire stores in Lethbridge and you will get a FREE ticket to the game!

THE WEEK THAT WAS

Thursday, November 26th - 9-0 Win vs. Kootenay: The Hurricanes had nine different goal scorers as they trounced the Ice 9-0 at the ENMAX Centre. It was the first time since October 11th, 1998 that the 'Canes scored nine goals in a game at home. Stuart Skinner earned his second career shutout.

Friday, November 27th - 4-2 Win vs. Brandon: The Hurricanes picked up an emotional 4-2 victory over the rival Wheat Kings on Friday. Justin Gutierrez scored twice, including the game winner, as the 'Canes knocked off Brandon for the first time since February 12th, 2014.

Saturday, November 28th - 3-2 Win @ Kootenay: The 'Canes swept the weekend as they picked up a 3- 2 victory in Cranbrook against the Ice. The game was closer than it should have been as Wyatt Hoflin was outstanding in the Kootenay goal. Gutierrez had his first WHL hat-trick in the win.

THIS WEEK'S GAME SCHEDULE

Wednesday, December 2nd - 7:00pm vs. Calgary: The Hurricanes kick off the three-game week as they welcome the Calgary Hitmen on Wednesday night. It's the first meeting of the season against the Hitmen and it will be a battle for second in the Central Division as both teams enter tied with 34 points on the season.

Friday, December 4th - 7:00pm vs. Prince Albert (sponsored by ATB Financial): The Hurricanes play the first of a back-to-back at home in the final two home games before the Christmas break. The 'Canes welcome the East Division leading Prince Albert Raiders. It will be the first time this season the 'Canes and Raiders will meet.

Saturday, December 5th - 7:00pm vs. Red Deer (sponsored by Canadian Tire): The 'Canes welcome the Red Deer Rebels on Saturday in the final home game before the Christmas break. The Hurricanes beat the Rebels 5-2 in their only meeting of the season.

NEWS & NOTES

Final Look: This week will be your final chance to see the Hurricanes in action as Saturday's Canadian Tire Teddy and Toque Toss will be the last home game for the 'Canes before the Christmas break. After Saturday, the Hurricanes will travel east for a six game in nine night's road trip starting in Brandon and finishing in Red Deer.

Signed, Sealed, Delivered: After being selected in the third round (65th overall) by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft in June, defenseman Andrew Nielsen signed his first ever NHL contract inking a three-year entry level deal last Monday. The Red Deer product is having a career year with 25 points in 26 games this season and sits third in defenseman scoring in the WHL.

Making the List: Russian rookie, Egor Babenko, has been rolling to start his WHL career. In his first 26 games, Babenko has collected 30 points (13g-17a). In his last three games, he has scored eight points (1g-7a). He was recently ranked as a 'C' skater on the latest 'Players to Watch List' for the 2016 NHL Entry Draft that was released by NHL Central Scouting. Babenko is tied for first in the WHL in rookie scoring.

Nine is Fine: The Lethbridge Hurricanes kicked off a weekend sweep with a 9-0 win over the Kootenay Ice on Thursday at the ENMAX Centre. Nine different goal scorers lit the lamp for the Hurricanes in the win while Stuart Skinner earned his second career shutout. It was the first time since October 11th, 1998 that the 'Canes had scored nine goals in a home game.
