Cane Cutters Open 2016 Season in Bryan, Texas

The Acadiana Canecutters open up their season tomorrow night at College Station against the Brazos Valley Bombers at 7 p.m.

The Cane Cutters will face off against the Bombers in a two game series on Friday and Saturday with both games starting at 7 p.m. For radio coverage of the Cane Cutters games visit the Bomber's website.

Head coach Austin Flores will debut his first season at the helm of the Cane Cutters on Friday. Flores, an assistant coach for Nicholls State University baseball, helped lead the Colonels to back-to-back 30-win seasons and became an assistant infielders and catchers coach after the 2015 season. Flores also played baseball at Nicholls State.

The Cane Cutters team is composed of various collegiate players in the south, with a large SEC class that includes Alabama's Sam Finnerty, Zac Rogers, Chandler Taylor and Cobie Vance, Mississippi's Brandon Browning and Texas A&M's Trey Jimmerson.

Following the end of the Ragin' Cajuns season, Dylon Poncho, Jam Williams and Josh Morris, will also join the Cane Cutters.

The Cane Cutters return to Acadiana for their home opener on Sunday to play the Woodland Strykers in a two-game series, with the second game being on Monday. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. at Fabacher Field. The game will also be streamed live on UStream.tv.
