Cane Cutters Drop Fourth in a Row Losing

July 12, 2016 - Texas Collegiate League (TCL)
Acadiana Cane Cutters News Release

The Acadiana Cane Cutters lost another tough one tonight dropping a 2-1 decision to the Victoria Generals Tuesday night.

The loss is Acadiana's season high fourth in a row.

In the first innings, the Cutters had runners on the corners with nobody out when Cobie Vance from Alabama grounded into a double play which scored a run and put them up 1-0.

Brian Browning from Ole Miss who took the tough luck loss tonight had a costly throwing error in the fourth inning which enabled Dakota Phillips to score and tie the game up at 1.

Browning pitched into the seventh inning with the score still tied at 1 when Nick Anderson launched a ground rule double to deep left center scoring Christian Caudle from third base giving Victoria a 2-1 lead.

Both of the Generals runs were scored from walks thrown by Browning.

The Cane Cutters had their chances with the bases loaded in the 5th and runners at second and third in the 8th and couldn't capitalize.

The Cane Cutters will look to snap their four-game losing streak tomorrow night as it's Faith and Family night at Fabacher against the Victoria Generals. First pitch is at 7pm.
