Youngsville, LA - The Acadiana Cane Cutters are gearing up for there 8th season in the Texas Collegiate League with familiar faces returning to the field staff, head coach Luke Montz and pitching coach Joey Satriano. In 2017, the two led the Cane Cutters to a regular season record of 29-23 and a TCL Championship appearance.
The Cane Cutters will start the 2018 season on the road for a two-game series against the Texas Marshals on May 27th-28th. Acadiana dominated the Marshals a season ago, winning 10 out of the 14 matchups. The Cane Cutters will then make their first appearance at Fabacher Field for the home opener vs. the Texarkana Twins on Thursday, May 31st. This will be the first of the four-game set that will feature the Brazos Valley Bombers on June 2nd-3rd. The 2018 schedule will consists of 28 home and 28 away games for each team.
The Generals will host the 2018 TCL All-Star Game and Homerun Derby midway through the season on July 4th in Victoria, TX. After the break, the Cane Cutters will be back home at Fabacher Field on July 8th-9th against the Texas Marshals. The regular season will come to a conclusion on August 6th with the first round of the playoffs beginning on the 8th. The TCL Championship series will take place on the 9th, 10th, and 11th(if neccessary) of August.
Game Day promotions are planned thoughout the season for our fans' enjoyment. Every Tuesday is "$1 Hot Dog Night", Thirsty Thursday is "$1 Beers", and Sunday is "Slippery Sunday" (Kids can enjoy a free waterslide from 6-7 PM). We will also have fun jumps on a nightly basis and announce more special promotions and theme nights as the season approaches.
