Canadiens Assign Mathieu Carle To The Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that defenceman Mathieu Carle has been assigned from the Canadiens to the Hamilton Bulldogs. Carle is scheduled to join the 'Dogs in Abbotsford today and be available for their game tonight against the Heat.
Carle, 22, made his NHL debut on November 3 against the Atlanta Thrashers while playing in a total of three games with the Canadiens, recording no points and four penalty minutes. The native of Gatineau, Quebec has played in 11 games with the Bulldogs this season recording three points (one goal, two assists) and 10 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 203-pound defender played in 59 games with the 'Dogs last year registering 29 points (seven goals, 22 assists) and serving 43 penalty minutes. Carle was selected in the 2nd round, 53rd overall by Montreal in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
The Bulldogs will meet the Abbotsford Heat for their second match-up in as many nights tonight at 10:30 p.m. EST.
