Hillsboro, OR - Four Canadians pitchers combined on a shutout of the Hillsboro Hops that helped end an eight-game losing streak as Vancouver topped Hillsboro 4-0 on Saturday afternoon out at Ron Tonkin Field.

Canadians starter RHP Andrew Ravel dazzled over his three innings allowing just one hit while striking out two. Relievers RHP Michael Ellenbest (3.0IP); RHP Zach Jackson (2.0IP) and closer RHP Griffin Glaude (1.0IP) each gave up a base hit, but nothing more as Ellenbest managed his first victory with the Canadians (1-3).

Offensively, Vancouver got key contributions from LF Nash Knight who went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI and RF J.B. Woodman who went 2-for-4 with a run scored. CF Josh Palacios went 2-for-4 with a triple to bump his average to .293 on the season with a hit in eight of his past ten.

Defense also took center stage with Canadians SS Yeltsin Gudino making three separate plays that snuffed out any Hillsboro offense as Vancouver finally got back into the win column, moving to 5-11 (.313) while the Hops falls to 10-6 (.625) with 22 regular season games remaining, with the C's now 6 1/2 games back of North Division leading Everett.
