June 26, 2016 - Northwest League (NWL1)
Vancouver Canadians News Release

(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, B.C.) - Canadians RHP Pat Murphy went six strong innings while RF Juan Tejada went 3-for-4 to help pace Vancouver to a 3-2 victory over the Hillsboro Hops on Saturday night.

Murphy, a hard luck loser in his first start of the season in Spokane, where the C's got shut out, bounced back with six innings of four hit baseball allowing just two runs while striking out five. Vancouver's bullpen continues to dazzle with LHP Evan Smith (0.2IP), RHP Jackson McClelland (1.1IP) and closer RHP Jackson Lowery (1.0IP) slammed the door on the Hops offense to help the Canadians move to 5-4 (.555) on the season.

Offensively, RF Juan Tejada had his most productive night of the summer going 3-for-4 with an RBI while LF Rodrigo Orozco went 2-for-4 and C Javier Hernandez also had a pair of hits and a run scored in the win.

With the victory, Vancouver keeps pace in the Northwest League North Division, trailing Everett by a lone game after the Aquasox topped Boise 7-4, improving to 6-3 (.667) through the first nine games of the summer.

The Canadians and the Hops play game four of this five-game series on Sunday, June 26th at 1:05pm with RHP Luis Sanchez getting the start on the mound for Vancouver. Sunday's A&W Family Fun Sunday set for 1:05pm, is SOLD OUT. Tickets remain for Monday's series finale at 7:05pm.

Tickets to Vancouver Canadians Baseball can be purchased by calling 604.872.5232, online at www.canadiansbaseball.com or by visiting the Nat Bailey Stadium Box Office at 4601 Ontario Street, Vancouver, B.C.
