TONIGHT'S GAME

The Calgary Roughnecks face the Vancouver Stealth in the back half of a home-and-home set this evening at the Langley Events Centre. The two clubs met last weekend in the first-ever Star Wars Night, © & ™ LFL, at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Calgary channelled the Force and defeated the visiting Stealth 16-12 in front of 12,856 fans. Curtis Dickson, in his 100th career NLL game, found the back of the net four times to become the franchise's new single-season goals leader (55). He finished the game with two helpers for six points while Dane Dobbie, who previously held the record after a 51-goal season in 2014, had a five-point outing (3g, 2a). Tyler Digby netted two goals in the win while seven different Calgary players contributed with single markers, including Jeff Shattler who also added three assists. Corey Small paced Vancouver with a pair of goals and six helpers. Logan Schuss (2g, 4a) and Rhys Duch (2g, 3a) were also key contributors for the Stealth. The Roughnecks will look to clinch a playoff berth with a road victory tonight while Vancouver, who has not won a game since edging Calgary in overtime on Feb. 20, will look to halt a seven-game winless streak.

Calgary wraps up the 2016 regular season at home with Fan Appreciation Night, presented by Cardel Homes, on April 30 against Toronto.

VS VANCOUVER: Tonight the Roughnecks and Stealth will meet for the fourth and final time of the 2016 regular season. Calgary enters the contest with a 2-1 advantage in the season series following last weekend's 16-12 home win. Curtis Dickson leads Calgary with 13 goals and seven assists in three games against Vancouver while Logan Schuss tops the Stealth with 23 points (8g, 15a) against Calgary. Last year, the Roughnecks and Stealth split the series 2-2.

DÉJÀ VU: The Roughnecks can clinch the third and final West Division playoff spot with a win this evening at the Langley Events Centre. Last year Calgary faced the same scenario against the Vancouver Stealth when the two rivals faced each other in the final game of the regular season. That contest saw the Roughnecks edge Vancouver 14-13 on May 2 in Langley. A victory tonight would mark Calgary's 14th straight year in the post-season.

MILESTONE MARKER: With a four-goal effort last weekend, Curtis Dickson became the franchise's new single-season goals leader at 55. Previous records were held by Dane Dobbie (51, 2014), Lewis Ratcliff (50, 2007) and Tracey Kelusky (45, 2005).

RECORD CHASERS: A pair of Roughnecks forwards are approaching milestone markers: Jeff Shattler is one point away from 600 career NLL points and one loose ball back of 1,000. When Shattler hits 1,000 career loose balls, he will become the 23rd player in league history to achieve this feat ... Dane Dobbie is four goals away from scoring his 300th career marker and becoming the first player to reach this plateau as a Roughneck.

IN THE BOOKS: Jeff Shattler recorded four assists on Apr. 2 against Saskatchewan to become the franchise's new all-time assists leader at 355. He eclipsed the previous mark of 354 set by Kaleb Toth who suited up for the Roughnecks from 2002-12. Shattler, now in his 10th season with Calgary, has 359 career assists.

GOING ONCE: Last weekend the Roughnecks wore limited edition Star Wars-themed jerseys that are now up for bid at ElevateAuctions.com. All auction proceeds will be directed to STARS Air Ambulance. Fans have until Monday, April 25 to place a bid with the auction set to close that evening at 8:00 p.m. MT. A bid received in the final five minutes of the auction will extend the bidding time on that item by an additional five minutes. This process repeats until there are no new bids placed.

ROOKIE RECOGNITION: Roughnecks forward Wesley Berg was named the NLL's Rookie of the Month for March. He led all league rookies in scoring with 20 points (7g, 13a), including three or more points in all five games played, to help Calgary to a 3-2 record in March. The 22-year-old is tied for first among rookies in points (52), second in goals (19) and assists (33), and first in power play goals (7) and power play assists (13). Selected by Calgary fourth overall in the 2015 NLL Draft, Berg has recorded six multi-goal games, including his last three outings in March, and has registered at least three points in 14 of his 16 contests.

ROSTER MOVES: The Roughnecks were quiet on trade deadline day (Mar. 29) and did not make any moves prior to the 1:00 p.m. MT deadline. Ahead of the Mar. 31 roster submission deadline, Calgary released practice players D Patrick O'Meara and F Tyler Melnyk. Teams are now only permitted to make internal roster transactions.

LOOKING BACK: The Roughnecks were 5-11 when entering Game 17 last season.

GET SHORTY: The Roughnecks are tied with New England for third-most shorthanded goals at 10. Of Calgary's 10 markers, Curtis Dickson has netted a league-leading five and sits one shorthanded tally back of his career high set in 2013. Saskatchewan leads the league with 14 shorthanded goals followed by Colorado with 11.

NAIL-BITERS: Seven of Calgary's 16 games played have been decided by one goal with the Roughnecks winning two and losing five one-goal decisions. Calgary is 1-2 in two-goal games and 3-0 in four-goal contests. In games decided by five or more goals, the Roughnecks are 1-2.

GOING THE DISTANCE: The Roughnecks have gone into extra time in four of their last nine games. Calgary matched a single-season league record for most consecutive overtime games when they needed an extra frame in three consecutive games from Feb. 20 - Mar. 5. The last team to record three-straight overtime contests was Washington in 2011. The single-season NLL record for most overtime games is five, twice set by Arizona (2005) and Washington (2011). The most OT contests the Roughnecks have played in a single season is four, first set in 2004 then duplicated in 2015 as well as this season.

TOP 10: Curtis Dickson's 55 goals on the season sit second in league scoring while his 95 points are tied for fourth. Of his 55 goals, 13 have come on the power play (tied for second among all players) while his five shorthanded markers top all players. Greg Harnett and Dickson are in a 10-way tie for sixth in the league with two game-winning goals each. Jeff Shattler's career-high 50 assists are tied for seventh in the NLL. Mike Carnegie leads the team with 24 caused turnovers, tied for seventh in the NLL, while Karsen Leung sits 10th with 22. Dan MacRae is tied for fourth among the league's defenders with a career-high 16 points (4g, 12a). Mike Poulin is third among league goaltenders with a 10.99 goals-against average. Fellow netminder Frankie Scigliano sits eighth in the NLL with an 11.96 goals-against average.

FAN APPRECIATION: The Roughnecks will close out the 2016 regular season against the Toronto Rock on Apr. 30 at the Scotiabank Saddledome (FOX Sports GO). Game time is 7:00 p.m. for Fan Appreciation Night presented by Cardel Homes.

TRADE WINDS: Oct.26 - Acquired forward Tyler Digby, a first-round pick in the 2018 NLL Draft and a first-round selection in 2019 from the New England Black Wolves in exchange for forward Shawn Evans and a 2018 third-round pick; Dec. 28 - Acquired transition player Brandon Goodwin from the Buffalo Bandits in exchange for defenceman Mitch de Snoo.
