Calgary Roughnecks News Release

Toronto, ON - For the fifth time in franchise history, the Toronto Rock swept a regular season series against the Calgary Roughnecks with a 16-10 win at Air Canada Centre.

The Rock turned a three-goal opening run in the Saturday night affair into a 5-1 lead at the halftime break. For Calgary, the single first-half goal from Curtis Dickson set a new franchise low.

Special teams powered the scoring attack for both sides as the home club capitalized twice on the power play and netted a shorthanded goal in the first 30 minutes. After being held scoreless through the opening quarter, Dickson replied for Calgary which had the extra attacker, registering his league-high 31st goal of the season early in the second stanza.

Tom Schreiber led the way for Toronto with four goals and a game-high seven points as the Rock scored 11 of the game's 20 second-half markers.

Defender Greg Harnett, who returned to the lineup after serving a five-game suspension, kicked off the visitors' five-goal effort in the third quarter with his first career shorthanded tally.

Despite the regulation setback, Calgary's special teams unit continued to find success and finished the game with a season-high five power play goals on eight man-advantage opportunities, including a trio from Dickson. The NLL's top sniper added two helpers to close out the contest with five points. Teammate Jeff Shattler set up three goals and scored two of his own to also tally five on the scoresheet.

Frank Scigliano and Christian Del Bianco took turns between the pipes for Calgary. The goaltending tandem made 42 saves on 58 shots while Toronto's Nick Rose recorded his sixth win of the season with 30 stops.

Week 12 of the 2017 NLL campaign sees the Roughnecks (4-7) travel to the Infinite Energy Arena for their second and final regular season tilt against the Georgia Swarm (7-2) on Friday, Mar.17 (5:35 p.m. MT, NLLTV.com).
