Calgary, AB - Jordy Belleville broke a 1-1 third period tie, scoring a power play goal with 11:47 remaining, to lift the Lethbridge Hurricanes to a 3-1 win over the Calgary Hitmen on Sunday at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Giorgio Estephan and Zane Franklin into an empty net also scored for the Hurricanes who halted a two-game losing streak.

Jakob Stukel tallied his sixth goal of the season for Calgary to move into a tie for the team lead in goals with Matteo Gennaro.

Special teams played a key role with Lethbridge going 2-7 on the power play and the Hitmen finishing 0-4. The 'Canes outshot Calgary 37-31.

The Hitmen will now take an entire day to give back to the community with players set to volunteer tomorrow, Monday, Oct. 16, at the Calgary Flames/Calgary Hitmen Hockey Inspires Leadership Day. This workshop happening at The Big Four Building, will bring together 800 minor hockey players from all associations with an emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship, respect and fun.

Calgary is back on the ice on Friday, Oct. 20, when the team visits the Red Deer Rebels. The Hitmen return to the `Dome one week from today on Sunday, Oct. 22, to host the Prince George Cougars at 4:00 p.m. It's another Sunday Funday, presented by Pocky. There will be face painters, concourse activities, lots of giveaways and a post-game family skate that is FREE with your game ticket. Sunday Funday contests also feature a specially priced $8.99 ticket (plus applicable fees) for kids 12 and under.
