Kamloops, BC - The Calgary Hitmen set a new franchise record for shots on goal in a road game with 56 en route to a 4-2 win over the Kamloops Blazers on Wednesday night at Sandman Centre.

Jakob Stukel (1g,1a), Hunter Campbell (1g,1a) and Matteo Gennaro (2a) all tallied two points each for the Hitmen. For Campbell, it was his first-career goal in the Western Hockey League. Andrew Fyten and Luke Coleman rounded out the scoring for the visitors who built period leads of 1-0 and 3-1.

Calgary outshot the Blazers 56-32 with Nick Schneider making 31 saves to earn the victory.

Luc Smith and Quinn Benjafield netted the Kamloops goals as the Blazers remaining winless dropping to 0-9.

The Hitmen, 2-5-1-0, will now enjoy a day off before wrapping up their BC road trip in Kelowna on Friday.

Calgary returns to the Scotiabank Saddledome on Sunday, Oct. 15, to welcome the Lethbridge Hurricanes in a 4:00 p.m. start. It will mark the second Sunday Funday, presented by Pocky, of the season. There will be face painters, concourse activities, lots of giveaways and a post-game family skate that is FREE with your game ticket. Sunday Funday contests also feature a specially priced $8.99 ticket (plus applicable fees) for kids 12 and under.
