Kent, WA - The Calgary Hitmen opened a season-high six-game road trip with a 3-1 victory over the Seattle Thunderbirds on Friday night at ShoWare Center.
Matteo Gennaro was involved in all three goals to eclipse the 100 career point mark. The Winnipeg Jets prospect, who entered the contest with 99 points, set up a pair of goals then scored into an empty net to seal the victory.
Beck Malenstyn and Jakob Stukel also added singles for the Hitmen who improve to 4-0-1 in their last five games.
Seattle outshot Calgary 28-16 but Cody Porter turned in a first star performance to backstop the visitors.
Calgary, 7-5-2-0, continues their road trip tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 12, in Portland against the Winterhawks. The puck drops at 8:00 p.m. MT on Sportsnet.ca/960 (Alt Stream). The swing will also see the Hitmen play Everett (Nov. 15), Tri-City (Nov. 16), Spokane (Nov. 18) and Kootenay (Nov. 19).
The next Hitmen home game is not until Tuesday, Nov. 22 when Calgary welcomes the Red Deer Rebels to the Scotiabank Saddledome in a 7:00 p.m. start.
