TRAVERSE CITY, MI - The Traverse City Beach Bums(29-40) fell behind early in tonight's game and could not find a way back, losing to the Normal Cornbelters(37-32) by the final score of 5-1.

With two outs in the first inning, and a man on first, Normal's Nolan Meadows whacked a two-run bomb over the right field wall for his league-leading 22nd of the season, giving them an early 2-0 lead. In the second, Dylan Kelly drove in Justin Fletcher, who was hit by a pitch earlier in the inning. Santiago Chirino, later in the inning, hit a hard grounder toward second. As it ticked off of a diving Steven Patterson's glove, Kelly scored to make it a 4-0 game.

The Beach Bums offense notched their first run of the game in the fourth inning. Will Kengor led off with a double into the right field corner. He was moved to third when Elijah Trail grounded to short, then he scored on a Patterson grounder to second.
