New York Red Bulls News Release

El Segundo, CA - The Windy City Bulls (14-19), presented by BMO Harris Bank, the official NBA Development League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, dropped a 115-111 contest to the LA D-Fenders Friday night at the Toyota Sports Center in Southern California.

Alfonzo McKinnie paced the Bulls with this 13th double-double of the season, finishing with 20 points and 16 rebounds. Alec Brown added 16 points and 14 rebounds while Will Bynum chipped in 16 points and seven assists.

The D-Fenders improved to 28-9, the best record in the NBA Development League, behind a game high 27 points by guard Vander Blue. David Nwaba and Justin Harper each added 20 points for LA.

The game featured five lead changes and six ties after the Bulls jumped out to a 31-24 lead, connecting on five three-pointers in the first quarter. A strong second quarter put LA ahead 58-56 at the half.

Windy City built their largest lead of the evening when a driving layup by Bynum with 10:09 to play in the fourth quarter made the score 91-78 before LA mounted another run to retake the lead.

Windy City was forced to foul after a corner three-pointer by Brown pulled the Bulls to within two points at 111-109 with 12.6 seconds to play. LA split a pair of free-throws and Bulls guard Wesley Saunders was then fouled and converted on his pair at the line to pull Windy City within one point with 7.6 seconds remaining.

Another missed free throw by the D-Fenders left the door open, but the Bulls were unable to get a shot off as they turned it over and were forced to foul in the final seconds.

The Bulls continue their five-game road trip tomorrow night against the Santa Cruz Warriors at 9:30 PM CT.
