Bullfrogs Begin Four Game Series against Mallards

Green Bay, Wis. - The Bullfrogs are currently playing their best baseball of the season. Back to back series sweeps against the Rivets and Huskies give the Bullfrogs a four game winning streak. Now 11-7 in the second half, they sit just a half a game back after the south division leader Rafters game was postponed.

The Mississippi State connection was working for the Bullfrogs last night. Andrew Mahoney got the start for the Bullfrogs as he went five innings, allowing two runs on seven hits. The performance earned him his second win of the season. Replacing Mahoney was Bulldogs teammate Logan Elliot. Elliot dominated the Huskies as he went four scoreless innings, allowing three hits and struck out three.

Offensively, the Bullfrogs were led by Kent State teammates Brad Hamilton and Josh Hollander. They accounted for three of the Bullfrogs five runs. In the second, Hollander drove in Matt Hoeg (Iowa Western CC) on a single to center field. Hamilton drove in a couple of runs, one in the seventh and one in the ninth on two hits.

Luke Lind (North Dakota State) will get the start for the Bullfrogs. In his last start against the Huskies, Lind went six innings. Earning the no decision, Lind allowed two runs on four hits and struck out seven. This will Lind ' s second start against the Mallards. On June 18th, Lind went four and two-third innings and allowed one run on two hits. Lind has been one of the best pitchers in the Northwoods League as he brings his 2-0 record and 1.42 ERA into his eighth start of the season.

The Mallards will send Luke Matheny (Oklahoma State) to the mound. The right-handed freshman will make his third start of the season. In his last appearance, Matheny went three shutout innings against the Kalamazoo Growlers. On the season, he has yet to record a decision and has a 1.20 ERA in 15 innings thrown.

Rally Entertainment featuring the " King of Bling " will be at Joannes Stadium tonight.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
