Bulldogs Take Season-long Winning Streak Into Home Games Against Penguins And Phantoms This Week

The Hamilton Bulldogs (American Hockey League affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) will host two Eastern Conference opponents this week at Copps Coliseum. The Bulldogs will look to extend their season-high three-game winning streak in a tilt with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (American Hockey League affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28th. The 'Dogs will then host the Philadelphia Phantoms (AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 30th to round out their weekly schedule.

Last week, Hamilton posted a 2-0-0-0 record in two games. On Wednesday, November 21st, the Bulldogs defeated the Griffins by a score of 6-3 at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids before returning home to Copps Coliseum to post a 3-0 shutout over the North Division leading Toronto Marlies on Friday, November 23rd.

- Hamilton's penalty killing now ranks first overall in the AHL (89.1%), having allowed only 10 power play goals in 92 attempts

- C Corey Locke (58-113-171), who posted a goal and an assist this past week, is now five points behind Tomas Plekanec (71-105-176) for second place on the Bulldogs all-time scoring list, and needs nine points to overtake Brain Swanson (71-108-179) and become Hamilton's all-time leading scorer

- G Jaroslav Halak added to his franchise lead with his 10th career AHL shutout and first of the season in the 'Dogs 3-0 win over the Baby Leafs on Friday night

- RW Sergei Kostitsyn, who leads the Bulldogs with 19 points (5-14-19) this season, collected one goal and three assists this past week, extending his current scoring streak to four games (Nov. 16-23) with six points (2-4-6) in that span

- RW Jonathan Ferland (8-4-12), who tallied two goals in the 'Dogs road win on Wednesday night, became the team-leader in goals with eight on the campaign

- Friday night's game is the first of two contests between the two teams this season

- The Phantoms are currently ranked first in the East Division and tied for first in the AHL with a record of 15-4-1-0 in 20 games this season

- In 28 all-time games versus Philadelphia, Hamilton holds a record of 14-9-3-2-0

- Phantoms forwards Jonathan Matsumoto (8-9-17), Jared Ross (7-10-17), Kyle Greentree (6-11-17) and defenceman Alexandre Picard (4-13-17) are all tied for the team-lead with 17 points each this season
