Brantford Bulldogs News Release

HAMILTON, ONT. - George Burnett will not be returning as the Hamilton Bulldogs Head Coach and General Manager, President Steve Staios announced today.

"I want to thank George for his contribution to the Bulldogs in our inaugural season in Hamilton", said team President Steve Staios. "George is a man of integrity and class, and we wish him well in his future."

George Burnett, a 26-year coaching veteran, came to Hamilton with the transition of the Belleville Bulls to become the first head coach and general manager of the Ontario Hockey League's Hamilton Bulldogs in 2015.

"After a thorough review, it was decided further changes were needed to help us achieve our goal to be a top program in the Ontario Hockey League", stated Bulldogs Owner Michael Andlauer. "One of which will be to separate the functions and accountabilities of General Manager and Head Coach. To that end, Steve Staios will assume General Manager responsibilities."

The Bulldogs head coach position will remain vacant for the immediate future.

Andlauer continued, "I want to thank George for the year we spent together as he was most instrumental in creating a successful and seamless transition from Belleville to Hamilton for our players, our League and for our fans."
