Bulldogs host two West Division opponents

The Hamilton Bulldogs look to get back into the win column this week as they play two home games. The Bulldogs battle the Chicago Wolves (29-30-3-8) on Friday, March 31 at 7:30 p.m. and then face the Manchester Monarchs (39-26-2-4) on Saturday, April 1 at 7:00 p.m. This is the first and only visit to Hamilton this season for both Chicago and Manchester. Friday's game can be seen live on Hamilton's Cable 14.

- This will be the second and final meeting of the season between these two teams.

- In the first meeting of the season on February 4, Brad Winchester scored 2:08 into overtime to give Hamilton a 2-1 victory.

- Manchester sits in third place in the Atlantic Division with 84 points.

- The Monarchs penalty kill is tied for eighth in the league, currently operating at 83.3% (71 goals allowed in 426 shorthanded situations).

- Manchester is the least penalized team in the league, averaging 15.7 penalty minutes per game.

Saturday, March 25 - Canadiens RW Michael Ryder scored twice while C Steve Begin (2a), LW Garth Murray (1g), C Chris Higgins (1a), and C Tomas Plekanec (1a) also contributed offensively in Montreal's 6-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs. G Cristobal Huet stopped 26 shots to earn the win and was named the game's second star. - Oilers C Shawn Horcoff and RW Fernando Pisani each recorded an assist as Edmonton defeated the Vancouver Canucks 3-2. - Blue Jackets D Ron Hainsey collected two assists and LW Jason Chimera had an assist as Columbus defeated the Detroit Red Wings 5-4 in a shootout. - Mighty Ducks D Francois Beauchemin scored in Anaheim's 5-2 win over the Phoenix Coyotes. - Bruins G Tim Thomas stopped 36 shots as Boston defeated the Buffalo Sabres 5-4. Sunday, March 26 - Canadiens RW Michael Ryder (2g) and C Chris Higgins (1g-1a) each had two points as Montreal defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 6-5.

- Oilers C Jarret Stoll (1g), LW Raffi Torres (1a), and C Shawn Horcoff (1a) each recorded a point in Edmonton's 4-3 shootout win over the Colorado Avalanche.

- Stars RW Antti Miettinen earned an assist in Dallas' 3-2 win over the Calgary Flames.

- Maple Leafs LW Chad Kilger scored in Toronto's 4-3 victory over the New Jersey Devils.
