Bulldogs Face Monsters At Home, Travel For Two Games Against Heat This Week

On Friday December 9th, 2011, the Hamilton Bulldogs hosted their annual Toy Toss event. Over 3,000 stuffed toys were thrown onto the ice and will be given to local charities including McMaster Childrens Hospital, Catholic Childrens Aid, Interval House of Hamilton, Children's Aid Society of Hamilton, the Salvation Army and various other charitable groups in the Hamilton area. The Hamilton Bulldogs begin their week at Copps Coliseum to face the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL Affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche) on Wednesday, December 14th at 7:30 p.m. The 'Dogs then travel to Abbotsford, British Columbia to play against the Heat (AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames) on Friday, December 16th at 10:00 p.m. and on Sunday, December 18th, 2011 at 4:00 p.m.

A t all Tuesday night 'Dogs home games, fans can purchase an "All You Can Eat" tickets for only $30.00 ($15.00 for season ticket holders). Included with an "All You Can Eat" ticket is admission to the game and unlimited chips, hot dogs, peanuts, pizza, popcorn, pretzels and soft drinks (pop and water). Fans can purchase "All You Can Eat" tickets at the Copps Coliseum Box Office, online at www.ticketmaster.ca, at the Bulldogs Office at 101 York Boulevard in Hamilton or by calling 905-529-8500 or 1-888-DOGS-TIX (1-888-364-7849).

At all Friday night Hamilton Bulldogs home games at Copps Coliseum, fans can purchase draft beer for only $3.00 between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Fans must be of legal drinking age and are asked to drink responsibly.

At all Sunday afternoon home games, fans can also purchase a "Pizza Pizza Family Pack", which includes four tickets to the game and a $20.00 food and beverage voucher for only $60.00! Aaron Palushaj scored his second goal of the season in overtime while Nathan Lawson shutout the Phantoms with 34 saves. Michael Leighton stopped 27 of the 28 shots he faced during the game.

The Toronto Marlies defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 2-1 at Copps Coliseum on Friday, December 9th, 2011 snapping the 'Dog's two-game winning streak. Andreas Engqvist scored his fourth goal of the season while Nathan Lawson stopped 26 of the 28 shots he faced. Greg Scott netted his eighth goal of the season during the first period while Jerry D'Amigo scored the game-winner during the second period.

The Hamilton Bulldogs won against the Syracuse Crunch 4-1 at Oncentre War Memorial Arena in Syracuse, New York on Saturday, December 10th, 2011. Robert Mayer stopped 45 of the 46 shots he faced. Phil DeSimone scored his team leading sixth goal of the season while Danny Masse, Gabriel Dumont and Aaron Palushaj scored for the Bulldogs throughout the rest of the game. Dan Sexton scored Syracuse's only goal in the third.

The Hamilton Bulldogs returned home and defeated the Rochester Americans with a 2-1 win on December 11th, 2011. Alexander Avtsin and Mike Blunden scored their third goals of the season in the second period which helped secure the win. Mike Turnbull netted the Americans only goal in the first period while David Leggio made 33 saves during the game.
