Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
The Hamilton Bulldogs on Monday donated 650 tickets to the students and staff at Lawfield Elementary School in a special presentation at a school assembly.
Each student at Lawfield received a pair of tickets to the Bulldogs next home game, which will take place on Friday, November 25 against the Cleveland Barons, while each staff member received one ticket to the game.
The initiative was spearheaded by Mischa Weisz, who is a member of the Bulldogs' ownership group.
"The Hamilton Bulldogs realize the importance of giving back to the community and are pleased to be able to show support for Lawfield School," stated Bulldogs' Executive Director of Operations Brian Lewis. "This endeavor is a great example of the benefit of having a local ownership group. The Bulldogs would like to thank Mischa for sponsoring this initiative."
Lawfield Elementary School was severely damaged by a tornado during the storm that hit Hamilton and surrounding areas on November 9, and the school was forced to move to an entirely different building located at 10 Abbington Drive in Hamilton.
Lawfield Principal Bill DeMille said, "We were overwhelmed by the generosity shown by the Hamilton Bulldogs. It helps the healing process for students to know that people care and are thinking about them. Many of our students are Bulldogs fans and were ecstatic that Bulldogs representatives came to the school."
Super Bruiser, a 10-foot inflatable Bulldogs mascot was in attendance along with Guy-Know-It-All and Candy Apple, who hosted the Bulldogs' Healthy Habits Challenge with teachers and students.
