Winnipeg, MTB - The Hamilton Bulldogs were defeated 5-3 by the Manitoba Moose on Friday night. The Bulldogs scored two late goals but the Moose added two empty net goals to earn the win.

Hamilton opened the scoring at 13:46 of the first period. David Desharnais received a pass from Mike Glumac before dishing the puck to Brock Trotter. Trotter fired a shot that beat Manitoba starting goaltender Cory Schneider through the legs.

The Moose tied the game at 14:40 of the opening frame. Nolan Baumgartner sent a pass to Sergei Shirokov, who skated in on Hamilton starting goaltender Curtis Sanford. Shirokov used a forehand-to-backhand move before flipping the puck over Sanford and into the top of the net.

Manitoba took a 2-1 lead at 4:02 of the second stanza. Evan Oberg blasted a shot from the blue line that was saved by Sanford. While making the save, Sanford fell out of position allowing Erik Christensen to grab the loose rebound and slide the puck into the net. Mario Bliznak gave the Moose a 3-1 lead at 8:23. Bliznak skated into Hamilton's zone before snapping a shot that beat Sanford through the five-hole.

Following the goal, Cedrick Desjardins replaced Sanford in the net.

The Moose added a shorthanded empty net marker at 18:29 of the third stanza. Mike Keane received a pass from Bliznak before depositing the puck into the empty Hamilton goal.

The ‘Dogs scored their second goal of the game at 18:41 of the final frame while on the power play. Eric Neilson grabbed a loose puck behind the Manitoba goal before sending a shot towards the net. Andrew Conboy deflected the shot past Schneider and into the empty net. The Bulldogs cut the lead to one goal at 19:19. Schneider stopped a Ben Maxwell shot but could not contain the rebound. P.K. Subban skated in from the left point before whacking the loose puck past Schneider.

Keane added his second empty net goal at 19:39 of the third period to seal the victory for the Moose.
