The Shreveport Mudbugs (40-9-3-2) rally early in the third period to overcome a shaky start and beat the Odessa Jackalopes for a ninth time in ten meetings so far this season Saturday night at Georges Pond in Hirsch Coliseum.

The Jacks got the game's first goal at 5:08 in the 1st period when Petr Miko tipped in a goal on a 2 on 1 odd man rush. Odessa led 1-0 after the opening period of play.

The Bugs were trailing 2-0 late in the 2nd period when Ryan Burnett used his speed and skill along the near side and drove home his 14th goal of the season at 19:56 to make it a 2-1 contest in favor of Odessa after two periods of play.

The Mudbugs had all the momentum going into the 3rd period and Ryan Burnett would slip in his 2nd goal of the game at 4:11 on the short side to tie the game up at 2. Cole Quisenberry picked up the only assist on the goal. Then 1:49 later, Quisenberry was Johnny on the spot to bang in his 16th tally of the year and give Shreveport a 3-2 lead. Ryan Burnett got the assist and his third point of the contest.

Jaxon Castor picks up his ninth win in net as a Bug making 30 saves to preserve the win for Shreveport.

The Mudbugs are now 9-0-1 against the Jacks so far this season with the two teams playing one more two-game series in Odessa to close out the regular season on April 6th and 7th.

The Mudbugs return to action next Friday night as they welcome in the playoff foe Corpus Christi Ice Rays to Georges Pond at Hirsch Coliseum. It will be a two-game set with a 7:11pm puck drop scheduled for both Friday and Saturday.?
