Today's Game - The Buffalo Bisons open a second straight non-divisional series tonight, hosting the Columbus Clippers. Buffalo stands 1-1 on a weather-shortened homestand following Thursday's rainout with Norfolk. The Clippers' (CLE) series continues with a pair of afternoon tilts Saturday and Sunday. The Bisons are in the midst of 12 of 15 games in Buffalo to start season.

Bolsinger on the bump - Following a pair of 'piggyback' stints from the Bisons pen, Mike Bolsinger makes his first start of the season. Today marks his 50th career Triple-A start. He made six starts with the Bisons last season (25.1IP, 19R, 17ER, 27K). Over the last three seasons, he's made 36 starts in the Major Leagues (ARZ 9GS, LAD 27GS).

How the west was won - The Bisons won five of six during last year's series with Columbus, including a three-game sweep in central Ohio. Overall, Buffalo was victorious in 19 of the 25 games played against the IL-West, including a 10-2 road record. Conversely, went 9-17 against the southern division.

Smitty is a style - Dwight Smith Jr. collected the Herd's first four hit effort on Wednesday. This was his fourth career four hit game and his first since July 4, 2014, while playing with Dunedin (FSL).

We'll take three Parms - Ian Parmley roped a second three hit game on Wednesday. After a 7-12 (.583) start to the year, Parmley snapped a 0-11 skid and his average simmered (.370) to a Bisons club-best.

Santos shines in debut - Just hours after his promotion to Triple-A, RHP Luis Santos went to the hill. The righty tossed three scoreless in his first Buffalo outing; allowing two hits, fanning three, walking one.

Hang 10 - For the second straight night Bisons pitchers combined to calm 10 Tides. This marks the fifth time the staff had racked up a double-digit strikeout total this season. The previous three facing Rochester, included a season-high 15 on April 12. Four times this season a Bisons starter has punched out seven batters alone.

Trying to tune in W-I-N-S - Wednesday night the Bisons took their first loss of the season plating four or more runs, in the 9-5 setback vs. Norfolk. The Bisons posted seven of their eight wins scoring four or more runs. The Herd launched four homers scoring a season-best 10 runs at Scranton/WB on Saturday and have scored nine runs twice.

Smoking start to the season - The Bisons have won or split each of their four series match ups to this point. The overall, with 8-4 record includes five wins over the RailRiders. Recent hot starts include: 2001 12-2 start and 15-6 finish to April; 2007 the team bolted out 7-1; 2013 the Herd won 13 of the first 17 games, and went 15-5 in April.
