MANKATO, Minn - For the second straight game Waterloo was unable to take advantage of an early 2-0 lead as the Bucks fell to the Mankato Moondogs, 3-2, for the second straight night. All five combined runs on Friday were scored with two outs, the first time Waterloo has been a part of a game where all the runs were scored with two outs.

After both teams combined for just two hits through the first two innings, Waterloo broke the scoreless drought with a pair of two out runs in the top of the third. Travon Benton led off the inning with a walk before Jake Hand singled through the left side. Robert Neustrom gave the Bucks an early 2-0 lead with a two-run double to right-center, brining around both Benton and Hand.

Mankato (9-5, 31-18) tied the game at 2-2 with a two-out, two-run double of their own in the fifth. Drew Fearing reached on hustle-double down the left field line to open the frame. Marucs Pingleton then drew a two-out walk before Bryce Adams tied the game with a two-run double to right-center.

The Moondogs took the lead for good with another two-out run. Alvaro Rubalcaba reached on a two-out infield single before Fearing reached base for the third straight time with a walk. All-Star Jake Shepski put Mankato in front 3-2 with an RBI single to left, bringing in Rubalcaba from third.

Waterloo (6-8, 28-21) received two walks in the top of the ninth from Alex Boxwell and Benton but were unable to bring in the tying run. Andy Muehlberger (1-2) allowed one run on one hit in 2/3 of an inning in the loss.

Derek Hendrixson struck out two in two scoreless innings while Hunter Spencer retired one of the two batters he faced in a 1/3 of an inning. Patrick Boyle recorded a no-decision in the start. The southpaw allowed two runs on seven hits over five innings, walking three, hitting one and striking out three.

All-Star Ricky Digrugilliers (6-2) allowed two runs over six innings in the win while Brian Gadsby (4) secured the win with the four-out save.

The Bucks continue their four-game series vs. Mankato on Saturday in Waterloo. First pitch from Riverfront Stadium is at 7:05 p.m. with RHP Steven Baker (1-3, 2.78) opposing Mankato RHP Reece Eddins (3-2, 4.40).
