September 6, 2016 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Austin Bruins News Release
As the calendar flips to September, the Bruins get set for the 2016-17 season with a pair of preseason tuneups this week against the Minnesota Magicians. The first game will be at Riverside Arena on Friday, September 9th at 7:05 PM. The two teams will turn around and play at Richfield Ice Arena in the Twin Cities on Saturday night at 7:00 PM.
Friday's home game will run just like a regular season game, with gates opening at 6:00 PM. Fans can purchase tickets in advance for just $5 general admission at the following Bruins ticket vendors: Hy Vee, Jim's Marketplace, Games People Play, Holiday Inn and Austin Conference Center. Season ticket holders and children ages five and under will receive free admission. The game will be broadcast with live video (and audio) on FASTHockey.com, beginning at 6:50. Saturday's game in Richfield will not be broadcast.
The Bruins had their hands full with the Magicians last season, going just 1-6-1 in their eight head-to-heads. Offseason re-alignment in the NAHL saw the Magicians move to the Midwest Division, swapping spots with the Minnesota Wilderness (Cloquet, MN), who join the Central. The Bruins and Magicians will still play four times during the 2016-17 regular season, which will begin Wednesday, September 21st at the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, MN against the Topeka Roadrunners at 7:15 PM.
