Dominguez would cross the plate when Jeremy Barfield launched a sacrifice fly to give the Skeeters a 2-0 cushion. The Bluefish countered in the home half of the sixth inning by plating a run against Gallagher to cut the deficit in half at 2-1. After extending his hitting streak to a season-high 14 straight games, Luis Hernandez was sent home by Jonathan Galvez with two outs, as the Atlantic League All-Star reached base for the sixth consecutive game with a single. Bridgeport would tie the game in the bottom of the seventh inning, as pinch-runner Anthony Giansanti crossed the plate on a throwing error by Sugar Land shortstop Beamer Weems on an infield single by Endy Chavez as Weems tried to erase Hernandez at second base but the feed to the bag could not be handled by Ricky Hague. After solid performances out of the bullpen by Paul Demny and Veras, the 'Fish looked to win the game in the bottom of the ninth. With two outs in the inning, After Angelys Nina blasted a double to straightaway centerfield over the head of Josh Vitters to lead off the frame, Bridgeport was in business. With two outs, Nina slid home safely on a wild pitch thrown by Robbie Weinhardt that could not be handled cleanly on the backhand by Skeeters backstop Albert Cordero on the only pitch thrown by Weinhardt, and the fans went home with smiles on their faces as Bridgeport walked-off in victorious fashion 3-2. The Bluefish were led offensively by Chavez, Galvez, and Nina, who each registered two hits in the contest. Photo provided courtesy of Dave Csordas.
