Bridgeport Falls in Series Finale

(Bridgeport, Conn. - May 2, 2013) - The Bridgeport Bluefish was defeated by the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs 10-1 in Thursday evening's game at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard.

Hunter Jones (0-2) got the start and pitched into the fifth inning before Josh Schmidt relieved him. Jones allowed seven hits, seven runs and walked five in the loss.

The win went to Logan Williamson (1-0) after he came into the game for Southern Maryland starter Michael Ballard. Ballard allowed one run over four innings in his first start for the Blue Crabs.

Bluefish second baseman Daniel Mayora collected three singles extending his hitting streak to 13 games. Bridgeport totaled eight hits with five coming from the top of the order. Adam Greenberg (2-4) had a double and a run in the first inning and that was all Bridgeport could get.

Bridgeport will be on the road Friday evening as they will visit the Somerset Patriots. Somerset will start Mitch Adkins while Bridgeport will send Michael Colla (0-1) to the hill. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
