LAWRENCEVILLE, GA - Atlanta Braves' All-Star catcher Brian McCann and his wife Ashley will serve as the honorary chairs for the fourth annual Brian McCann Rally Celebrity Softball Game, set for Saturday, November 3 at Coolray Field. The event will raise proceeds for the Rally Foundation for childhood cancer research.
The Brian McCann Rally Celebrity Softball Game, presented by Jet Sports Management, Ashley and Brian McCann and the Chipper Jones Family Foundation, begins at 11 AM with on-field activities starting at 12 PM and the first pitch scheduled for 12:35 PM. Both McCann and Jones are scheduled to attend, in addition to other celebrity guests.
Rally Kids, kids who have fought or are fighting cancer, will also be in attendance as honored guests at the game and will participate in on-field events during the game.
Tickets for the game are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Children under 10 are free. The family-friendly event will include a sports memorabilia silent auction, plus food and merchandise for sale. Parking will be $5.
"My wife and I are excited to be honorary chairs again at this year's Celebrity Softball Game," said McCann. "Working with Rally has given us the opportunity to help these kids affected by cancer, and it is an honor to participate in this event year after year."
The Celebrity Softball Game serves as one of two events featured in the Delta Air Lines Double Play. The night before the game, the Benefit Bash with Mizuno Big League Players will take place at the Grand Hyatt. The Delta Airlines Double Play has raised more than $1.3 million for childhood cancer research.
"The Delta Air Lines Double Play is always one of the highlights of our year at Rally," said Dean Crowe, Founder and CEO of Rally. "We love working with Brian and Chipper. The softball game is a lot of fun and it is great to see them interacting with the fans and Rally Kids. The Celebrity Softball Game is a fun family event that brings us another step closer to finding cures for childhood cancer."
Since its inception in 2005, Rally has awarded more than $3 million in research grants supporting more than 60 projects nationwide. Grants are awarded through a competitive peer review process assuring that the best research is funded. To find out more about Rally and the Celebrity Softball Game, visit RallyFoundation.org.
