Rome, GA - The West Virginia Power were shutout 10-0 by the Rome Braves at State Mutual Stadium on Saturday night. Patrick Weigel and Chase Johnson-Mullins held the Power to four hits while sending West Virginia to its seventh shutout loss this year.

Rome jumped on West Virginia starter Bret Helton in the first, sending eight batters to the plate, scoring four runs on four hits. Jonathan Morales double in a pair to break the inning open. The Braves added two runs on two hits in the second and lead 8-0 after three complete.

Morales sacrifice fly in the fourth drove in Justin Ellison to extend the lead to 9-0. Darien McLemore hit his first professional home run in the bottom of the eighth to cap the scoring a 10-0.

Weigel pitched six and two-thirds no-hit innings before surrendering a seventh inning single to Carlos Munoz. Weigel (6-4) struck out seven batters and didn't walk one before allowing the first Power base hit of the game. West Virginia finished with four hits, including a ninth inning triple by Logan Hill to extend his hitting streak to nine consecutive games.

Helton (6-7) allowed eight runs on seven hits over two and two-thirds innings in the loss.

The Power and Braves continue the four game set on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. Gage Hinsz will start for West Virginia and be opposed by Rome's Ricardo Sanchez.
