Bravehearts Fan Fest Will Allow Fans to Swing for their Seats

April 14, 2016 - Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL)
Worcester Bravehearts News Release

The Worcester Bravehearts announced plans to host their third annual Fan Fest on Saturday, April 23rd in conjunction with their single-game tickets and All Star tickets going on sale to the general public. Fan Fest is free and will take place at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field from 12pm - 3pm. Tickets will be available for all 30 of the team's regular-season home games in the 2016 season, including the league All Star Game on July 13th.

Just as in previous years, the event will feature a scavenger hunt, inlatable obstacle course, and free Fitton Field Franks & popcorn to the Qirst 1,000 fans. A new feature this year will allow fans to "Swing for Their Seats" and have a chance to hit a home run in order to win season tickets. For $20, the "Swing for Your Seat" promotion gives fans five swings against Bravehearts' coach Kevin Hartigan. If the fan hits a home run over the fence in those five swings, he or she will win two free season tickets for the 2016 season. Even if the fan is unable to hit a home run, the $20 entry fee will be applied to a merchandise or ticket purchase. Current season ticket holders who are successful in hitting a home run will receive free season tickets in 2017.

"We always look for ways to introduce new activities at our events," said General Manager Dave Peterson. "It's important for the Bravehearts to continually roll out new ideas that excite different segments of the fan base each year, and the 'Swing for Your Seats' promotion is a fun way to do that."

The gates will open at Hanover Insurance Park at 9:00 AM this year for a Job Fair and Coaches Clinic. The job fair will advertise openings with the Bravehearts in concessions, parking & security, maintenance, and hospitality at the ballpark over ten weeks this summer. The coaches clinic is an opportunity for parents to learn from Bravehearts coaches about how to become better coaches for their sons or daughters who play youth baseball or softball. Both the job fair and coaches clinic will run from 9:00 - 12:00 before the Fan Fest begins.

Fan Fest also marks the first chance for fans to purchase tickets to the Futures League All Star Experience on Wednesday, July 13th. That event will feature a Fitton Ave Fan Fest with live music, Home Run Derby, and giveaways & celebrity appearances throughout the evening. Reserved seats will be available for $15 and General Admission will be $10.

The Bravehearts have already announced two-thirds of the roster that will take the field on June 3rd in an attempt to win a third straight Futures League championship. Eight players from the 2015 team will return, including West Boylston resident Dante Ricciardi (Georgetown University) and Auburn resident Zack Tower (UMass-Lowell).

New local players such as Nick Barry of Grafton (UMass-Lowell), Ryan Ward of Millbury (Bryant University), and Peter Bovenzi of Lunenburg (University of Richmond) will also be wearing the navy blue and lime green with the Bravehearts this summer.

Bravehearts single-game tickets are available to adults in the Premium Box level for $9, in the Box level for $8, and in the Grandstand for $7. Tickets for children under 12 are $7, $6, and $5 respectively. Fans will also save $1 on each ticket by purchasing them at Fan Fest, online at worcesterbravehearts.com, or by phone at 508-438-3773 in advance of each game. Fans who hold Bravehearts' Flex vouchers or gift certificates for tickets may also begin exchanging them for actual seats beginning Saturday the 23rd at noon. All exchanges must be made in person or over the phone.
