Brandon Wheat Kings Lose Yeo

March 10, 2008 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Brandon Wheat Kings News Release

The Brandon Wheat Kings have announced that 20 year old defenceman Theran Yeo underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Monday morning in Winnipeg and will be lost to the club indefinitely.

The Prince Albert native has five goals, 18 points and 109 penalty minutes in 47 games for the Wheat Kings, who close out their regular season this week with a game against Prince Albert on Wednesday and a home and home weekend series with the Regina Pats.

Yeo missed 10 games earlier this season after surgery to the same knee in October.

An eleventh round draft choice of the Wheat Kings in the 2002 bantam draft, Yeo has played in 206 games during the course of his four year career, scoring ten goals, 47 points while accumulating 471 minutes in penalties.

Yeo is one of three overage players on Brandon's roster and between Daryl Boyle, Tyler Dittmer and himself, Brandon's 20-year olds have missed a total of 42 games this year.

In other news, the Keystone box office has announced that ticket sales for Wednesday night's game have been brisk and as of 11 a.m. Monday, only "Standing Room Only" tickets remained. Last year's final Rain Check Night was completely sold out 36 hours before game time.
