January 14, 2018 - ECHL (ECHL)
Brampton Beast News Release
BRAMPTON - On January 13, the Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, will welcome the Fort Wayne Komets for its first Bell Let's Talk game in support of mental health. The puck drop is slated for 7:15 pm.
Brampton Beast Captain Brandon Marino and Fort Wayne Komets Captain Jamie Schaafsma will be joined by Bell Let's Talk representative Lena Demarco, Bell's Regional Director, Community Affairs, for the ceremonial puck drop at centre ice.
It's also Hockey Day in Brampton! The four rinks at the Powerade Centre will play host to hundreds of minor hockey players who will all be in attendance for the Beast game in the evening.
To celebrate Hockey Day, Brampton Beast will be running a free jersey promotion. The first 1,000 children to arrive at the arena will be given a sweater. Gates will open at 6:15 PM.
The Brampton Beast is pleased to support mental health. 1 in 5 Canadians will experience a form of mental illness at some point in their lives, making it an issue that affects the lives of all Canadians. Talking openly about mental health is helping to end the stigma around mental illness.
Bell Let's Talk Day is January 31
Bell will donate 5 cents to Canadian mental health programs for each of these interactions on January 31, at no extra cost to participants:
