Allen Americans News Release

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans' seven game winning streak came to an end on Friday night, as the Fort Worth Brahmas defeated the Americans 4-3 at Allen Event Center.

Chad Woollard opened the scoring in the first period, after a turnover in the Allen end. Woollard put one top shelf from in front of the Allen net, for his tenth of the season, from John Snowden at the 15:41 mark. The period ended with Fort Worth outshooting the Americans 14 to 5.

Woollard added his second of the night, unassisted in the second period, after he strolled in alone in front of the Americans goal lifting a backhander off of goalie Aaron Dell into the Allen net for his 11th of the season. The Americans cut the lead in half on Trevor Ludwig's 6th of the year from Jason Deitsch and Jamie Schaafsma at 7:47 of the period. However, the lead wouldn't last long, after an Americans turnover, John Snowden fired one past Aaron Dell coming in on a two-on-one break. Snowden's wrister from the left side of the ice gave the Brahmas another two goal lead, 3-1.

Fort Worth grabbed a three goal lead in the third, when Brahmas forward Jake Morley scored to make it 4-1 halfway through the third. Allen cut the lead to two when Jason Deitsch poked one in past Kritofer Westblom for his sixth of the season, and second point of the night, at the 12:05 mark of the third. Allen would make it interesting, scoring one more goal late when Jarret Lukin parked in front of the net, poked one in shorthanded with 53 seconds remaining in regulation. The Americans were unable to get a shot off in the final twenty seconds, as Fort Worth would hold on for just their second regular season win ever at Allen Event Center 4-3.
