"Aaron has earned this opportunity with his dedication and hard-work over his four-years with this organization," said Head Coach Richard Matvichuk. "He plays the game the right way and has developed into a very dependable two-way forward; I couldn't be happier for him."
Boyd, 20, set career highs in goals (14), assists (24) and points (38) in 67 games this season with the Cougars. In his four-year WHL career, Boyd compiled 34 goals, 50 assists for 84 points in 251 regular season games. He had three goals in 16 career playoff games.
