Salt Lake Bees News Release

SALT LAKE CITY (July 26, 2010) - The Pacific Coast League announced today that Salt Lake Bees centerfielder Peter Bourjos has been named PCL Player of the Week for July 19-25. This is the second Player of the Week award for Bourjos this season (previously July 5-11), as well as the second for a Bees player in 2010.

Bourjos, who leads the PCL with 12 triples this season, hit .343 (12-for-35) for the week, drove in nine runs and also scored 12 times. He had four multi-hit games in seven contests and went 9-for-11 in his last two outings. The 23-year-old Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim prospect enters today's game leading the PCL with a .485 (49-for-101) batting average for the month of July. He also leads the league with 49 hits, five triples and 31 runs scored in July.

Bourjos is one of just nine PCL hitters since the league's inception in 1903 to hit three triples in a game, which he accomplished on April 16 against Tacoma and nearly repeated on July 2 at Colorado Springs with a two-triple effort.

The Salt Lake Bees continue an eight-game homestand tonight against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at 7:05 p.m. at Spring Mobile Ballpark. Book your summer group outing with the Salt Lake Bees while dates are still available. Season tickets start as low as $7 per game.
