The Border Cats improved their record to 6-5 Saturday night as they beat the Rochester Honkers 3-1 at Mayo Field. Trailing 1-0, catcher Jacob Rogers (Eastern New Mexico University) cracked a three-run double with one out in the top of the 7th inning to put the Cats ahead for good. Rogers had another double to finish 2-3 at the plate. Shortstop Joey Hawkins (Missouri State University) also went 2-3 with a run scored as Thunder Bay split the two game series.

John Havird (Mesa Community College) came out the bullpen and had an outstanding outing as he picked up the win to even his record at 1-1. The lefthander pitched seven shutout innings and allowed only three hits. Havird walked three and struck out four. Michael Foster (Northeastern University) recorded his third save as he pitched the final 1 2/3 innings. Foster struck out three as the Cats finished their four game road trip with a 2-2 record.
