PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Bloomington Blaze, fueled by Mid-Illini Credit Union, used a hat trick from Jon Booras and a pair of goals from Tyler Gron to defeat the Arizona Sundogs 6-3 on Friday night at Tim's Toyota Center. Booras' trick was the fifth of the season for the Blaze.

The Blaze opened the scoring on a Jon Booras goal just 5:04 into the game on a centering pass from Matthew Larke, but the Sundogs tied the game just 49 seconds later when Ron Meyers completed a 2-on-1 breakaway on his own. Tyler Gron gave the Blaze a 2-1 lead with 3:05 on a feed from Booras deep in the slot on a rush to put Gron one-on-one against Sundogs goaltender David Brown.

Gron increased the lead to 3-1 by completing a tic-tac-toe from Steve Makway and Booras with 11:31 remaining in the second period. Booras recorded his second goal of the game when he knocked in a feed from Makway at the right post with 4:44 left in the second, also assisted by Nicklas Lindberg. Mike Glaicar cut the deficit to 4-2 when he reached for a puck in the slot and barely deflected it off the left post and into the net with 2:41 left in the middle period. Booras completed his hat trick with another power play redirect at the right post from Makway and Larke with 1:10 left to give the Blaze a 5-2 lead at the second intermission.

The Sundogs cut the Blaze lead to 5-3 on a rebound goal from the right circle by Jake Hauswirth with 16:18 remaining in the third period. The Blaze completed the scoring when Sebastien Trudeau raced in at the left circle and beat relief netminder Adam Russo on the stick side with 4:00 remaining in regulation.
