Boomers Set Team Attendance Record

SCHAUMBURG, IL - The Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, celebrated their fifth season in style, welcoming a franchise record 172,996 fans through the gates of Boomers Stadium in 2016.

The Boomers average of 3,604 fans per game led the Frontier League for the third consecutive season and marked a 17% attendance increase from 2015.

"The Boomer franchise now has tremendous momentum. In just our first five years of existence we have vaulted to the top of the Frontier League in attendance, sponsorships and stature," said Boomers owner Pat Salvi. "We are not going to rest on our laurels. We have an experienced and talented front office that includes our own outstanding food and beverage company."

On September 1st, the Boomers were selected by the Frontier League as the Organization of the Year for 2016. The honor marks the second in franchise history. The team was selected as the league's Organization of the Year in 2013 as well.

"I am extremely proud of the Boomers ownership, management and staff," said Frontier League commissioner Bill Lee. "For the five years they have been in the Frontier League, they have consistently operated their team in a first-class manner."

The 2016 season featured the first major concert in Boomers Stadium history with country artist Clint Black performing live on August 19th and will mark the return of the Larry A. Pagofsky Cubs / Sox Charity Softball game this Saturday, September 10th. The Boomers also made national headlines in August by entering into contract negotiations with former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow.
