Bluefish to Host Brakettes in Third Annual Battle of the Sexes

(Bridgeport, Conn.) - The Bridgeport Bluefish today announced that they will once again host the Stratford Brakettes softball team on Sunday, July 24th at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard for the third annual Battle of the Sexes exhibition game. The game will be a seven-inning contest played under fast-pitch softball rules.
During the inaugural match-up in 2014, the Bluefish edged the Brakettes 2-1 in a dramatic walk-off fashion. Last year, the 'Fish again took the victory by a score of 7-3.
"The annual Battle of the Sexes event has become a staple of the entertainment provided here at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard," says Bluefish General Manager Jamie Toole. "We look forward to trying to make it three in a row versus the extremely talented young women of the Stratford Brakettes."
The Stratford Brakettes are an amateur softball team and feature some of the best collegiate and post-collegiate players in the nation. They are currently one of the longest running competitive softball teams in the United States, as 2016 will be their 70th year of softball competition. Throughout their existence, the Brakettes have won 28 National Amateur Softball Association Championships and have produced 22 National A.S.A. Hall of Famers and 13 Olympians.
Game time on Sunday, July 24th will be 7:00pm with The Ballpark at Harbor Yard gates opening at 6:00pm. CLICK HERE to purchase tickets online. Tickets will be sold for $12.00 in advance or $15.00 at the gate on the day of the game. For groups of 20 or more, tickets will be sold for $10.00 each.
