Bridgeport, Conn. - Bridgeport Bluefish team officials today announced that they have acquired pitcher Frank DeJiulio, Jr. from the Long Island Ducks in exchange for pitcher Scott Shuman.

"We're excited to have Frank join us as we gear up for the second half," says Bluefish Manager Luis Rodriguez. "He's been pitching extremely well this season for Long Island and we know he'll be a great asset to our arsenal."

Frank DeJiulio, Jr. comes to Bridgeport during his sixth season of professional baseball and second in the Atlantic League. He began the 2016 campaign with the cross-sound rival Long Island Ducks, where he collected a 1.04 ERA in 17.1 innings of relief. He spent two years with the Angels organization, playing for Single-A Cedar Rapids during the 2012 season. In 128 career minor league appearances, Frank owns a 14-13 record with 184 strikeouts in 206.0 innings of work.
