BlueClaws return home for eight games with West Virginia and Greensboro

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The Lakewood BlueClaws return home for eight games starting on Friday, May 16. The home stand is full of some of the most highly anticipated promotions of the year, as well as everyone's favorite weekly events.

Friday's 7:05 p.m. game against West Virginia, the Class A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, will feature post-game fireworks, presented by Toyota and Scion World of Lakewood.

The action continues on Saturday at 4:05 p.m. with one of the most eagerly awaited promotions in BlueClaws history. What it will be is a highly guarded secret, but everyone knows, "They're Coming..."

Sunday will also be a special day at FirstEnergy Park, as there will be a series of events to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Day, sponsored by Molly Maid and JerseyShoreMoms.com. Prior to the 1:05 p.m. first pitch, there will be a survivor walk around the field of breast cancer survivors and their families. The first 2,000 women will also receive pink BlueClaws hats, thanks to Molly Maid, and the BlueClaws will be wearing pink jerseys.

Following the game, the 'Claws will be holding a live auction, selling the game-used pink jerseys with all proceeds going to Susan G. Komen for the Cure Central and South Jersey.

Sunday will also be Kids Character Day, presented by Renewal by Anderson, as a favorite cartoon character will be on hand to mingle with the fans.

Monday's 6:35 p.m. series finale with West Virginia will also feature another great entertainer. The Phillie Phanatic will be at FirstEnergy Park, thanks to OceanFirst Bank, to hang out with the crowd. As always, it will also be Kids Eat Free Monday, courtesy of Shop Rite. Every kid in attendance will receive a voucher for a free hot dog, chips and a soda.

The BlueClaws will welcome the Greensboro Grasshoppers, the Florida Marlins affiliate, on Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. It will be Senior Day Tuesday, presented by Commerce Bank, as every senior will receive a voucher for a free hot dog, chips and a soda. Baseball Bingo cards will also be handed out to every fan. There will also companies catering to seniors in attendance for the first Senior Expo of the year.

Wednesday will be the final Education Day of the season, with the game starting at 11:05 a.m. All fans 17 and under will receive an oversized baseball card, courtesy of Harrogate and the Asbury Park Press.

Thursday's 6:35 p.m. game will be the return of a fan favorite, the Summer Concert Ticket Giveaway. Each of the first 2,000 fans will receive raffle tickets for chances to win tickets to some of the hottest concerts of the summer, including Bruce Springsteen at Giants Stadium and Jimmy Buffet at Citizens Bank Park. Dave the Horn guy will also be performing throughout the game.

The 'Claws wrap up the home stand on Friday, May 23 against Greensboro at 7:05 p.m. There will be post- game fireworks, courtesy of Toyota and Scion World of Lakewood.
