Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release

HAGERSTOWN MD - Max Schrock went 4-4 and Kelvin Gutierrez went 3-5 while the BlueClaws were held to just two hits in falling 8-0 to Hagerstown Wednesday afternoon at Municipal Stadium.

The Suns (4-3) swept the three-game series from the BlueClaws (1-6), who were swept in just one series all of last year.

The Suns opened the scoring with two runs in the first inning on a two-run double by Gutierrez, who had three hits in the win. They would add three more in the third to go up 5-0 and Telmito Agustin homered in the fourth to make it a 6-0 game.

BlueClaws starter Franklyn Kilome gave up six runs in 4.2 innings on eight hits and took the loss to fall to 0-2. Hagerstown starter Taylor Hearn left injured after one batter and Luis Torres came in the game, allowing just one hit over 3.2 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. Mariano Rivera III gave up one hit over four scoreless innings in relief for the Suns as well.

The Suns added one run off Zach Morris and one off Alberto Tirado for the 8-0 margin.

The BlueClaws got one hit from Brendon Hayden and one hit from Samuel Hiciano in the loss, the first time they've been shutout this season. The two hits matched their season-low from all of 2015.

The BlueClaws head back to Lakewood for their first homestand which starts on Thursday night against Greensboro. LHP Tyler Gilbert (0-0) starts for the BlueClaws against LHP Gabriel Castellanos (0-0).
