Blue Bombers Team up with Home Run Sports to Support KidSport Winnipeg

WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Home Run Sports launched a new initiative today that supports KidSport Winnipeg and is specially aimed at helping a minimum of ten children who normally couldn't afford to pay for football registration play the game they love this season.

With the average cost of registration over $300 to play football in Winnipeg, the Bomber Store will be selling limited edition KidSport themed Blue Bomber t-shirts (http://store.bluebombers.com/index.php?cPath259) with $10 per t-shirt sold going towards KidSport. The goal is to sell 300 of these t-shirts to raise $3,000 which would help cover the cost of registration for up to ten children.

These t-shirts will be available at the Bomber Store's flagship location at Investors Group Field and online.

This initiative starts a new relationship with the Blue Bombers and Canada's leading sporting goods retailer Home Run Sports who have joined the Blue and Gold as a corporate partner and a major supplier to the Bomber Store.

Home Run Sports will donate a pair of cleats to each player and the Blue Bombers will donate a practice jersey and pay for their socks to cover off all other expenses so the player and families don't have to worry about additional expenses.

"The cost to play football shouldn't interfere with a child's ability to play football," said Blue Bomber President and CEO Garth Buchko. "Football is a great game that teaches the fundamentals of teamwork and builds character through discipline and knowledge, but most importantly it's fun and we're more than happy to be able to help."

Each week the Bomber Store will launch a new custom themed t-shirt produced by Home Run Sports that will be only available online and only for the week as an exclusive limited edition item.
