Blowfish Lose to Peninsula 5-4 in Game One of CPL Championship
Hampton, VA: Trailing most of the game 4-1, The Columbia Blowfish battled back in the eighth inning against the Peninsula Pilots. First baseman Connor Lewis (Landon) hit a three run home run to tie the score 4-4. Hunter Privette (USC Gamecocks) came on in relief over three innings and kept the Pilots at bay. Until in the bottom of the tenth, with a runner on second, the Pilots scored with a deep fly ball by Alex Close (Liberty). Close hit it all the way to the left centerfield wall that Blowfish centerfielder Eros Modena (Bethune Cookman) made an incredible attempt to catch- but could not hang on to...and that was the ballgame.
