Bloomington PrairieThunder Add Two for 2010-2011 Season

The Bloomington PrairieThunder of the Central Hockey League today announced the signing of two more players as the team continues to get ready for its fifth anniversary season in October. Fan favorite right wing Brett Holmberg along with defenseman Shaun Arvai have agreed to terms with the PrairieThunder.

Brett Holmberg returns to Bloomington for his fourth season. The twenty-four year old native of Sherwood Park, Alberta has played in 221 games for the PThunder, scoring 56 goals-76 assists for 132 points. Last season, the 5'-11", 203 lbs. forward tallied 20 goals and 25 assists for 45 points. Brett began his professional career in Bloomington during the 2007-08 season and is in the pro hockey record book as the fourth of four PrairieThunder players to set the professional record for most goals scored in the shortest span of time when four different players combined to score four goals in thirty-five seconds on April 5, 2007 at Flint, Michigan. Prior to turning pro, he played four seasons in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Sherwood Park Crusaders where he led his club in scoring for three seasons.

Defenseman Shaun Arvai (5'-10', 180 lbs.) begins his fourth professional season following a college career at the University of Alabama-Huntsville. The West Lorne, Ontario native split time last season in the Central Hockey League playing 13 games for the Missouri Mavericks and 37 contests for the Amarillo Gorillas. Known as a solid blueliner who makes smart decisions with the puck, Shaun scored 7 goals and added 20 assists for 27 points in 50 games last year. Arvai, 27, has also played professionally in both France and in Italy. Shaun's best pro season was in 2007-08 season in Amarillo when he scored 10 goals and 29 assists for 39 points.
