BRIDGEPORT, CONN. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers used a hot start to earn a 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Phantoms on Wednesday night at The Arena at Harbor Yard. Clad in its bright-orange third jerseys, Bridgeport picked up its second win in less than a week over Philadelphia, and trimmed the Phantoms lead in the East Division to six points after Wilkes-Barre/Scranton beat Lowell 3-2.

Jeremy Colliton's goal 1:41 into the contest started the Tigers on the road to a 3-0 lead. He carried a puck into the left circle before pushing a backhand past Brian Boucher for the initial advantage.

Later in the period, Ben Walter made it a 2-0 advantage. Drew Fata pulled a puck around from behind the net and put it on goal. Boucher made the initial save, but Walter finished it off at 7:48.

The 3-0 lead came to be at 11:39 of the second period. Steve Reiger took a centering pass from Frans Nielsen and put it by Boucher for a power-play goal.

Philadelphia finally jumped on the board at 7:39 of the third period. Frederik Cabana fired a wrist shot from the inside of the left circle that zipped past goaltender Joey MacDonald to make it a 3-1 game. Bridgeport later finished off the scoring with an empty-netter.

Boucher took the loss with 20 saves on 23 shots. MacDonald earned the win with 33 saves on 34 Phantoms chances.

The Phantoms will return to the Wachovia Spectrum on Friday night to host the Hershey Bears for the team's annual Teddy Bear Toss event.
