KENT, - The Kamloops Blazers defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 2-1 in front of 5,040 at accesso ShoWare Center.

Seattle (12-13-2-1) took a 1-0 lead at 17:43 of the first period on a power-play goal by Dillon Hamaliuk. Matthew Wedman carried the puck into and lost control of it just inside the blue line. Turner Ottenbreit got to the loose puck and passed it to Hamaliuk in the right circle. Hamaliuk one-timed the pass over Kamloops goalie Max Palaga's glove for his fourth goal of the season. Kamloops outshot Seattle 14-10 in the first period.

 Kamloops (13-14-0-0) tied the game 1-1 at 6:17 of the second period when Brodi Stuart scored. Nick Chyzowski had the only assist.

The T-Birds outshot the Blazers 9-6 in the second period. The Blazers led 20-19 in shots after two periods. Kamloops took a 2-1 lead at 11:57 of the third period on a goal from Jermaine Loewen. Carson Denomie and Luc Smith were credited with the assists. The Blazers outshot the T-Birds 12-7 in the third period and 32-26 in the game. Seattle goalie Matt Berlin had 25 saves and his record is now 8-7-1-1. Palaga made 25 saves and his record is 3-2-0-0.
