'Blades get goalie Manzato assigned to roster

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush, along with Head Coach Gerry Fleming announced today that the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League has assigned goaltender Daniel Manzato to the Everblades roster.

Manzato, a native of Switzerland joins the Everblades after playing professionally in the Swiss -A League for the past four years. The 23-year-old played in 43 games last season with Basel, posting a record of 13-30-0 with a goal against average of 3.50. The 6-foot, 178 pound net-minder played three years at the junior level in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 2001-2004 with Victoriaville prior to turning pro.

The former 5th round draft pick of the Hurricanes in 2002 fills the roster spot on the Everblades that opened when goaltender Tyler Plante was re-called by the Florida Panthers on Thursday.
