Blackhawks Recall Svedberg

Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have recalled defenseman Viktor Svedberg from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Svedberg, 24, tallied two points (1G, 1A) in 15 games with the Blackhawks from Oct. 9-Nov. 12 after making his National Hockey League debut on Oct. 9 at the New York Islanders. The Gothenburg, Sweden, native has posted 10 points (1G, 9A) in 30 games with Rockford this year. Svedberg has recorded 33 points (6G, 27A) in 114 career regular-season games with the IceHogs across three seasons (2013-16) and added four assists in eight 2015 Calder Cup Playoffs games. He was originally signed as a free agent on Oct. 19, 2013.

Next Home Game: Friday, Feb. 5 vs. Grand Rapids Griffins at 7 p.m. The IceHogs return from the AHL All Star break with the first game in a home-and-home weekend series against the Griffins. It's "White Out" night at the BMO Harris Bank Center as fans are encouraged to wear white while the first 2,500 fans through the doors will receive a white IceHogs t-shirt courtesy of Toyota.
