Blackhawks Reassign Hayes and Morin

Rockford, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks have reassigned forwards Jimmy Hayes and Jeremy Morin to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Hayes, 23, ranks tied for fourth on Hogs in scoring with 39 points (22g-17a) in 58 games. The second year pro has set career highs in goals (22), assists (17) and points (39).

The Dorchester, Mass. native recorded a goal and two assists in nine games with the Blackhawks. Last season, Hayes skated in 31 games for Chicago, potting five goals and four assists. He also appeared in two Stanley Cup playoff matchups.

Morin, 21, ranks third on the IceHogs with a career-high 49 points (27g-22a) in 59 games this season. He is tied for sixth in the AHL in goals and shares 18th overall in points. Morin has registered 15 multiple-point games this season, including a season-high three points (2g-1a) on March 9 at Oklahoma City.

In his first game with the Blackhawks this season, the Auburn, N.Y., native opened the scoring en route to a 7-1 victory for Chicago. Overall, Morin has appeared in 14 career NHL games with the Blackhawks, posting four points (3g-1a) in those contests.
